Character & Values Inventory Quiz

Teaching children character and values can be difficult, but it is one of the most important aspects of developing well-adjusted adults. Think about your definition of common values that most people can agree on and that help us interact with and respect others. Consider how many of these values are taught by example.

  1. Do I value myself and respect others?
  2. Do I demonstrate to my child how to be fair to others and treat them as equals?
  3. Do I show my child how important it is to be honest and trustworthy?
  4. Do I encourage my child to share and work well with others?
  5. Does my family resolve conflicts and arguments peacefully?
  6. Do I show my child how to share with others?
  7. Do we communicate with each other respectfully? Do I seek to understand the other’s point of view, before asking them to understand mine?
  8. Are we wise in our purchases and conserving resources?
  9. Do we do activities together as a family to bond as a team?
  10. Do I encourage my child to be a good citizen and contribute to his or her community (classroom, playgroup, friend group)?
  11. Do I have good habits and encourage my children to develop good habits?
  12. When solving a personal problem, am I able to weigh both the options and the consequences?
  13. Am I able to see past my own needs and consider another person’s needs?
